If you ever seen someone use a ipad as a camera it makes you laugh a little inside, they do look ridiculous. Manhattan Edit Workshop founder Josh Apter developed the Padcaster, a inexpensive solution for mounting an Apple iPad on a tripod. While this might sound like a bad idea at first the iPad 3 shoots video at 1080p HD, has a beautiful high res monitor and has built in editing options, no need for a PC or Mac, so shooting, editing, and output all in one device does sound like a better idea. So don’t throw out that 35mm adapter just yet you will need it in this setup to work, in the video Josh is using a Cinevate 35mm adapter. Watch video and a movie shot using this setup.
