AF100 300x137 Panasonics micro four thirds AG AF100 camcorder: a filmmakers dream

Panasonic seems the listen to what film makers want, a camera that has the ability to change lenses and has quality of a hd dslr camera. Before hd dslr camera’s indie filmmakers had to attach a 35mm adaptor to achive a real film look and it would look like a bazooka in the end. While many filmmakers shunned hd dslr cameras for not having some pro features like xlr inputs and a lot of other missing controls, Panasonic brings us the AG-AF100 micro four thirds camcorder.
More after the jump

The AG-AF100 is a micro four thirds camcorder recording in AVCHD at 1080p and 720p using framrates of 59.94, 50, 29.97, 25, and 24p, 2 SDXC card slots and drum roll please…. XLR inputs and HD-SDI standard sockets. The AG-AF100 will also be able to use any of Panasonics G series micro four thirds lenes which also mean you can use just about any lens like the Panasonic GH1 HD DSLR camera with the right adapters. There will also be auto focus during video, if any has used a GH1 hd dslr camera then you know that auto focus is pretty good. The AG-AF100 will be available by the end of 2010 expected pricing is around $6,000 USD , when released expect a flood of old camcorders on ebay.
