Bay Area Fireworks 2010 | Aerials from Trevor Meeks on Vimeo.

I took a couple of fellow pilot friends – Ian and Pete – for a flight over the bay area to watch the fireworks on the 4th of July.

The San Francisco Bay Area is an incredible place to fly around day or night, but 4th of July is my absolute favorite time to fly at night. Shortly after taking off out of Napa County Airport, we were able to see about 10 fireworks shows beginning around the bay area, and that number quickly doubled and tripled, and within a few minutes we were able to see about 40 fireworks displays going off simultaneously between Petaluma, Marin, Sonoma, St. Helena, Calistoga, Napa, Fairfield, Concord, Vallejo, Richmond, Oakland, San Francisco, the Sacramento River Delta, etc.

Shot with the Canon 1D Mark IV at 3200 ISO and a Zeiss CP.2 28mm T/2.1 lens between T/2.1 and T/4.0

Enjoy!
